Learn to move around Caprica Virtual Worlds with confidence.
Use these keys to walk:

Tips: * Hold the key for continuous movement * Release to stop * Double-tap movement key to run (in some viewers) * Hold Shift while moving to run (if double-tap doesn't work)
There are two ways to run:
Method 1: Double-Tap * Double-tap W or ↑ to run forward * Double-tap S or ↓ to run backward
Method 2: Always Run * Press Ctrl+R to toggle “Always Run” * When enabled, single press of movement keys runs * Toggle off with Ctrl+R again
Note: Some regions may disable running.
Flying is essential for exploring and building.
Toggle Fly Mode: * Press F or Home to toggle fly on/off * When flying, movement keys move you in 3D space
Vertical Movement: * Hold E or Page Up to fly up * Hold C or Page Down to fly down * Release to stop vertical movement
Flying Tips: * Fly is faster than walking * Use fly to reach high places * Some regions may have fly disabled * Hold Shift while flying to fly faster
* Press E or Page Up (tap once) to jump * Only works when not flying * Can jump over small obstacles
Default Camera: * Camera follows behind your avatar * Mouse wheel zooms in/out * Camera rotates around avatar when you turn
Reset Camera: * Press Esc to reset camera to default position

Note: Ctrl+0 may conflict with browser shortcuts in some viewers. Use mouse wheel instead.
Mouselook (First-Person View): * Press M to enter mouselook * Mouse movement controls camera direction * Movement keys still work * Press Esc to exit mouselook
Look At (Orbit Camera): 1. Hold Alt key 2. Click on an object or avatar 3. Camera centers on what you clicked 4. Move mouse while holding Alt to orbit 5. Release Alt to stop
Pan Camera: * Hold Ctrl+Alt * Click and drag to pan camera * Useful for looking around while stationary
Many viewers have camera preset buttons (typically bottom of screen): * Rear View - See behind you * Front View - See your face * Side Views - Left and right profiles * Top View - Bird's eye view
1. Press Ctrl+M (Cmd+M on Mac) to open map 2. Find a region you want to visit 3. Double-click the region 4. Click “Teleport” if prompted 5. Wait for teleport to complete
Teleporting Tips: * Green dots on map show online avatars * Click a green dot to teleport near someone * Some regions may be restricted or offline
If you have landmarks:
1. Open inventory (Ctrl+I) 2. Go to Landmarks folder 3. Double-click a landmark 4. Click “Teleport”
Creating Landmarks: 1. Go to location you want to save 2. World menu → Create Landmark (or Ctrl+Shift+L) 3. Name the landmark 4. Save to inventory
1. Right-click the avatar 2. Select “Teleport” or “Offer Teleport” 3. Click “Teleport” if offered teleport 4. Accept to teleport to them
Note: Some users may disable teleport offers.
You can teleport via web links (SLurls): * Click a SLurl link (e.g., from a website) * Viewer opens (if not running) * Teleport dialog appears * Click “Teleport”
The mini-map shows your immediate surroundings:
Open Mini-Map: * Press Ctrl+Shift+M (or find mini-map button in toolbar)
Mini-Map Features: * Your position (center dot) * Nearby avatars (colored dots) * Parcel boundaries * Terrain layout
Mini-Map Tips: * Green dots = friends * White dots = other avatars * Right-click mini-map for options * Click mini-map to set navigation point
1. Hold Ctrl+Alt 2. Click on ground or object 3. Avatar automatically walks to that location 4. Useful for precise navigation
1. Right-click an object 2. Select “Sit Here” or “Sit On” 3. Avatar sits on the object 4. Press “Stand Up” in toolbar to stand
Sitting Tips: * Sit on chairs, benches, vehicles * Some objects are scripted for sitting * Sitting can be used to reach high places
When in edit mode (building): * Hold Ctrl to move objects along one axis * Hold Shift to drag objects * Ctrl+Shift to resize uniformly

If letter keys don't move your avatar (they type in chat instead):
1. Press Ctrl+P for Preferences 2. Go to “Move & View” tab 3. Select “Movement” sub-tab 4. Check: “Pressing letter keys affect movement (i.e. WASD) instead of starting local chat” 5. Click Apply

Solutions: 1. Check if sitting - press “Stand Up” (Ctrl+Shift+S) 2. Enable WASD (see above) 3. Check if movement is disabled in region 4. Teleport to different location 5. Re-log (log out and back in)
Solutions: 1. Check internet connection 2. Lower graphics settings 3. Visit less crowded regions 4. Reduce draw distance 5. Update graphics drivers

General: * Practice in Welcome Area or sandbox before exploring * Use mini-map to orient yourself * Save landmarks to favorite locations * Set home point when you find a place you like
Building: * Use fly mode for building - it's easier * Hold Alt while building for better camera control * Use camera presets to check your work from different angles
Social: * Look at someone when talking to them (Alt+Click) * Use mouselook for first-person conversations * Don't walk through people - it's rude
Exploration: * Use map to find interesting regions * Follow green dots to find populated areas * Read region descriptions before teleporting * Be respectful of region rules
Exercise 1: Basic Movement 1. Walk forward, backward, left, right 2. Practice turning 3. Try running 4. Toggle fly on and off 5. Fly up and down
Exercise 2: Camera Control 1. Zoom in and out 2. Reset camera with Esc 3. Try mouselook (M) 4. Alt+click to look at objects 5. Practice orbiting camera
Exercise 3: Teleportation 1. Open map (Ctrl+M) 2. Find a nearby region 3. Teleport there 4. Create a landmark 5. Teleport back using the landmark
